Wordful Wednesday: Hurray for the iPhone

Where was I a year ago?

I like asking that question from time to time. It connects me to the past and it measures the change thats taken place in my life.

2011 held so many changes for me. I cannot even believe how much was packed into that year. But this post isn’t about that, really. It’s mostly a post to make up for the lack of photos prepared for Wordful Wednesday.

That’s the true story, but the one I thought about giving you, and could get away with without telling you the truth is that one of the major changes was the purchase of my iPhone.

Yes, that’s what I am going with today.

The above photo was taken the day I got my new phone. It was kinda a big deal for me because up until the iPhone, the only cool phone I had ever had was a Razor. Remember those?

After the Razor bit the dust I moved on from one cruddy handmedown to the next. It was ridiculous. As everyone else was getting an upgrade, I was getting the old shoe.

I didn’t actually care that much. I wasn’t aware of the wonderful world of smart phones. But NOW, I know. I love my phone so much. I love it because I can take a zillion photos and videos throughout the day. Without it, my kids might be lacking in childhood photos.

That’s probably not true. I’m a photoholic. But the iPhone has fed my addiction and kept me going strong.

This post is getting boring, huh? Don’t worry. It has a point. I just wanted to share with you a few memories from a year ago–a measure of change, if you will.

Chaucer’s missing a few of those rolls. I think so anyways. Or he’s taller. Something. Coco’s got longer hair. I have shorter hair. Chaucer has more hair. It’s so fun to see my babies like this. I get to have this forever.

Thank you, iPhone.

They change too quickly:( It’s fun to see and remember them as babies (although Chauce still is one).

Chaucer is being more and more of a toddler and less and less of a baby ????

I know. What really hits me is how much Coco has changed. Her voice is so much more grown up. And her hair–! Agh. I so wish we could just keep them tiny for a little longer. We miss you guys so much!

We all probably love them more than we should. But they are such useful and practical tools. I look at it as a way to keep track of this all too fleeting life.
