Wordful Wednesday: Mark Twain Just Gets Me

By |

Mark Twain is one of my favorite writers of all time. If he had a blog, he’d be bigger than even the Pioneer Woman. I know, I know, that might sound a bit sacrilegious, but he was an amazing writer and his wit was of a supernatural kind.

Pretty much everyday (give or take a Friday), I find myself muttering, “Apparently there is nothing that cannot happen today.”It can fit into almost any circumstance if you think about it. I like it so much that its hanging on a little deeliebobber in my home.

I’d like a lot more of those deeliebobbers…Preferably a few Shakespeare ones as well.

So without further ado, a few snapshots of the past week with a dash of Twain for ya’ll.

“A round man cannot be expected to fit in a square hole right away.
He must have time to modify his shape.”
Poor little dude always finds his way into unfortunate places. He is most definitely round of shape.
And then he hurts himself ????
“I can live for two months on a good compliment.”
Kaylie and Katelyn posing with Matt’s whiteboards. Yes, the scribbling is his Ph.D. work.
I have no idea what any of it means.
“My mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it.”
Yah. That’s my girl. Under the table with two boys. Uh oh.
“The best way to cheer yourself up is to cheer someone else up.”
This is baby Calvin. My bestie’s son. I still haven’t held him and it hurts.
“The most interesting information comes from children, for they tell all they know and then stop.”
She came up with this herself. Probably to make her playing with my iphone less naughty.
“Sufficient unto the day is one baby. As long as you are in your right mind don’t you ever pray for twins. Twins amount to a permanent riot; and there ain’t any real difference between triplets and a insurrection.”
My babies.
